I read some article today that said something along the lines of how newborn babies get stressed out when they are separated from their mothers.
Huh. Really. Who would have thought?
So after nine plus months of gestation, whisking a baby away from its mother causes it stress. Brilliant. Who’s the genius that commissioned that study?
I love science but for the life of me cannot help but wonder why do studies like this even exist? Shouldn’t this be common sense?
I mean, I suppose there’s some clueless clod out three who will read this study and perhaps think to not separate mother and baby, so that’s a good thing.
But really.
I think too many findings and too many studies keep us from relying on common sense and our inherent mother wit.
And that ain’t a good thang.
Trust your damn self. Trust your gut. Listen to your intuition. Go with your heart. Mamas feel that way for a reason.
So do babies.

Although this post is punch-drunk with negativity (sounds like you’re really irked, and you have a right to be), I’ve decided to follow your blog because we have so many interests in common. I had a home birth and am still breast feeding our 19-month-old, trying to live a health-conscious life in a polluted place (New York). So, I hope to see some gleaming smiles in a future post because it sounds like you, as a doula, would have lots of joy to spread. I love doulas! I can’t wait to try for #2 and try for home birth again!
Oh boy. If you were expecting June Clever, maybe you would be better off with another blog my fair reader. While I’m humbled anyone reads let alone follows my babble, ramblings, and rants (case in point), be warned: I’m. Moody. Sift through the blog and you’ll find a fair mix of both.
I’m thrilled you read. Thanks for stopping
Amen sister. Slow clap going on over here
